Not bored, by any means; enjoying a quiet evening in with hubby. The boy is with his Oma and Umpa, and we're just vegging here at home.

I'm available to chat, or just whatever. It's 8:20 PM for me.

Or feel free to ask me questions; I'm pretty open!
psyche29: Tea in a white cup and saucer, sitting on a pink placemat (tea)
1. First things first - I'm kind of surprised no one had anything to say about my last post. If you simply missed it but are reading this one, I would really appreciate thoughts on the previous one.

2. It was such a fabulous weekend. The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and we were kid-free till Sunday afternoon. Hubby and I had ourselves a day-long date on Saturday and it was perfect. We had an early lunch, did some shopping, just drove around for a few hours, did a little more shopping, took in a movie, had a late dinner and went home. MAN, did I love Saturday.

3. The movie we saw was Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and it was very good. I love the books, and while obviously stuff had to be cut out for a movie, and of course they messed crap up, it was still very good, and made hubby want to read the book. Excellent. I also loved being able to prod him along through the movie, to be able to see a scene spread out and be able to say, "OK, what do you see a lot of? Who do you think they'll meet here? What do you think is happening here?" It was really fun to watch things click for him with just a word here, a prod there.

4. Cut for pictures! )

5. Speaking of this Saturday, Valerie and Bailey are visiting with baby Phoenix. They'll arrive Friday, and we'll probably see them Saturday or Sunday. I'll have to try to take pictures - for having a stupid name, the kid is way cute, and happy, too.

6. Big Bang Theory tonight - yay! XD.
psyche29: Tea in a white cup and saucer, sitting on a pink placemat (tea)
1. Mom's got a pre-op physical this afternoon, and is scheduled for outpatient surgery on Tuesday. They'll remove the lymph node, and do a biopsy on it afterwards. I guess the CAT scan was inconclusive enough to make the doc just want to remove the node altogether, and go from there. I'm not too worried; I think it's better to just get it out and see what's what.

2. WE LEAVE IN AN HOUR! Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We're going to Duluth for the weekend, up to Island View Resort, where we've stayed a few times before. We really like the place, and we've been wanting to do it in the winter, so off we go for the weekend. I can hardly stand it, I'm so excited to get out of town for a couple days. We'll be in cabin 6, which looks great. *is excited*

3. We'll even be back in time for the football game on Sunday evening. I was telling Matt this morning that I don't care if they win or lose - I mean, obviously, winning is nice, but as long as they show up and play the game the way I know they are capable of doing, I'll be happy. All the same, GO VIKINGS!!

4. A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you've been taking. EARL WILSON.

5. Have a good weekend, everybody!!
psyche29: Tea in a white cup and saucer, sitting on a pink placemat (tea)
1. Seriously. Check out the Owl City album "Ocean Eyes." The music is gorgeous, and the lyrics are wonderful, if quirky and outright dorky and full of puns at times. I love the whole album, but my favorites are Fireflies and Vanilla Twilight, and I really love the end of Hello Seattle as well.

Sarah. I think you would like Vanilla Twilight.

2. OK, so this weekend was actually pretty good, factoring out the headache. We bought our Christmas tree and some ornaments for it, as well as a tree topper (a colorful star that lights up - it reminded hubby of what he had growing up, and I caved because I didn't mind it). We also got gift cards for my parents and some decent cookie sheets for our kitchen.

I was looking for soup crocks on Saturday as well, ones that I can use in the oven, the microwave, the dishwasher. I found a set of four at Bed, Bath and Beyond, but they wanted THIRTY BUCKS for it. I said hell no and found a set of four online at Collections, Etc., lids and all, on clearance for $7.97. We found a code for free shipping, and voilá, a good set of soup crocks for under ten bucks. I'm totally ordering another set.

This, of course, means I can finally make that french onion soup recipe I've been wanting to make. We even picked up some good brandy for it; I can't wait to get my crocks so I can make my daddy his beloved french onion soup. Note to self: find out what gruyere cheese is, and see if you like it better than muenster.

3. Collections, Etc.! Oh, my gosh. Oh, oh, my gosh. I love it. I was adding things to my wish list right, left and center. It's, like, fifty-two items long. I found SO. MUCH. apple stuff (I have a thing for decorating my kitchen in apples), and can't wait to start collecting it all. There's so much great stuff there; check it out, for real.

4. Picked up these shoes at Payless on Sunday. I didn't even know they were called "Kimberly Mary Jane" pumps till I just went looking for the picture of them! Hee! Anyway, they are VERY comfortable and perfect for work, and I love them. AND breaking them in isn't as much of a pain as I was thinking it would be! YAY!

5. My headache was gone when I woke up this morning. This is a lovely thing.

6. The light rail is up and working now out by me, so my ride is trying it out this week, which means I'm reverting back to my later hours. I think she'll end up doing it from now on, so it's back to 8:30-5:00 for me. This is OK though; I love having that extra half hour in the morning, I love going to work when it's light out, and don't really mind coming home a little later. And I like it when hubby brings me in and picks me up. More in gas money, I suppose, but we've always been drivers.

I'd take the light rail, too, but I just don't do well going places on my own.

7. We're going to try getting down to Red Wing sometime before Christmas to go see Beth and Dana's new house and visit with them. XD.

8. I think that's everything for now...just wanted to give a bit more than I managed yesterday. :)
psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (where the heart is)
Mmm, just a basic update, but I'll cut for length. ;)

I think that's the majority of it for now...I may have more to say later. *lol*

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." GEORGE CARLIN.
psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (together)
1. It's raining. Thank you, Lord - the humidity was absolutely stifling. Our air conditioner is turned off for the first time since, oh, Thursday...

2. Was in bed with the light off around midnight last night..and somehow slept till eleven. Wasn't planning on that, but it was pretty nice.

3. Culver's for lunch - wanted to stay all afternoon, there's a band that plays there each Saturday afternoon! They were just starting when we were finishing up, it was very cool. Several older gentlemen and few older ladies, playing bluegrass. We may go back next Saturday for more!

4. Made pig candy today. GOD, IT IS SO GOOD. I wasn't expecting it to be this awesome. I'll try to get a picture of it for you, but it might not last that long. It's just bacon, coated in dark brown sugar and baked in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Cool it on a rack and you have the stickiest, sweetest, tastiest treat ever. And actually, the bacon we picked up at the store was maple bacon - I think that adds to it. So good.

5. Got a picnic to attend tomorrow. Have to bring something to share, so I'll be making potato chip cookies. YUM.

6. Resting at the moment; watching an old Top Gear episode and enjoying the smell and sounds of rain. Not too shabby for a Saturday, no? XD.
psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (together)
1. Not too much today. Yes, again. And yes, I am aware that I am a boring, boring person...

2. S'ketti tonight at Bunny and John's. Bunny makes the best spaghetti. Wait, scratch that - Bunny makes the best food, period. I'm pretty sure she's fed me crap I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole if I knew what it was. And she lies when I ask her what stuff is, too. Woman knows how to work me, what can I say?

3. Karen's birthday was yesterday (the 23rd). Party tomorrow evening for her, so baking a cake tonight since Mom asked me. German chocolate - yummo. Dad's birthday today, called and wished him a happy one.

4. Mikey is currently serving punishment for the crime of the summer, committed last night. He's grounded from video games, we've taken away all snacks, he doesn't get a fan for his room this weekend, and we made him stay over at Bunny and John's tonight instead of giving him the choice. His crime? Last night (thank God it was dark), Matt stepped out on the balcony. Mikey, thinking he was being funny, stepped up behind him and YANKED HIS PANTS DOWN. Underwear and all. ... Hilarious now, yes, but last night? Ohhh, not funny. I've never seen that kid start crying so fast in his life. Didn't even have to touch him, he knew how much trouble he got himself into.

5. Watched that new GForce movie on Wednesday, a pre-screening for which Matt won free tickets. It was amusing here and there, but I'm glad we didn't pay for it.

Saw Get Smart the other night, though - that was a really great movie. Have to pick up my own copy.

6. Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another, 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one.' C.S. LEWIS.

Cut for length. )

7. Still have two Dreamwidth invite codes up for grabs. Comment and let me know if you want one, even just to try it out. I think what I like best about DW right now is that it's not blocked here at work, and I was able to import all my entries from LJ. AND, I can cross-post to my LJ from here (which is how I'm doing this right now). I'll have to check my LJ when I get home and make sure it looks the way it's supposed to, but that's all right.

8. Leftover gyros for lunch today...mmmmm, lamb and rice and pita and hummus.

9. If you watch "Jaws" backwards, it's just a movie about a shark that keeps throwing people up until they have to open a beach. What?! It struck my funny bone. *hehe*
psyche29: little girl watching something with an uncertain look on her face (mary secret garden)
1. Seriously. I think it's outside, but GOD, I want it to stop. Matt can't hear it. HOW?! Amanda and Mikey and I all hear it. EDIT: IT WAS THE CEILING FAN/LAMP IN THE DINING ROOM. AARRGGHH.

Other Stuff, Cut for Length )

*Yes, I am aware that I have issues. *sighs and rolls eyes at self*
psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (together)
1. One of my friends on Facebook had this to say:

So... the 'Miss USA' competition is on TV tonight. This is the one that doesn't want to burden it's contestants with a TALENT (remember kids... looks are EVERYTHING!). Given the choice, I'd rather let a buffalo poop in my ear than watch this.

He's so right, and I just felt the need to share because it was amusing. XD.

2. I'm feeling a little better. I'm still congested and have a cough, and I still feel like something's pressing on my chest, but at least it's not as bad as it was. Hubby refused to kill me and put me out of my misery when I begged him to do so on Thursday, so I guess this is OK.

I still hate being sick.

Just sayin'.

3. Downside to living on the third floor with a ten-year-old boy: I've felt every single step he's taken in this apartment since we moved because he WALKS LIKE AN ELEPHANT. *rolls eyes*

Also, he scares the CRAP out of me because he can't stay off that balcony and feels the need to jump on it and lean on the railing and Christ on a pogo stick, he's going to give me a damn heart attack. I'M ONLY 31.

Hope your day was fabulous!! XOXOXO

5. Updated my reading list, as I've now finished both City of Bones and City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare - who, incidentally, has an LJ and has introduced me to some of the most expensive shoes I've ever seen, but MAN, are they awesome! I want so many, it's got to be wrong somehow. Check it out, these shoes are so fun.

6. That's all for now - it's bedtime. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. ;)
psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (where the heart is)
1. OK. So we're mostly moved in. We got all the big stuff done on Friday, and we're officially living here, now. There's just boxes of stuff left at the house that we'll bring over throughout the week. Pictures...uh, eventually...

2. It's hubby's 30th birthday today. I made him breakfast (crescent rolls filled with cream cheese and bacon) and a cake (devil's food with cherries in the middle and chocolate cool whip for frosting). Yummy.

3. Happy Easter to all of you; I hope it was lovely for you. We had dinner at my aunt's...ham, rice, corn, super-delicious fruit salad - it was all so good. And Mikey loved his Easter basket. It was full of candy, so of course he did. *hehe*

4. No LJ notifications going out? I know it's happening to Sarah - anybody else? Argh. EDIT: Never mind, spoke too soon. There were two notifications in my email when I just checked it a minute ago. *rolls eyes* Go figure. *rolls them again*

5. Beth and Dana and the girls came over for half an hour or so on Saturday to see the apartment. It was really nice to see them. Elaina even painted us a picture; I put it on our fridge, it's so cute. And Evie - the first thing she did was crawl to our recycle bin and tip it over. *snerk* Too, too cute. And Beth helped me unpack my box of pots and pans - which ended up being less stuff than I thought it was. *gigglesnort* I can't wait to have them over for a game night, or even to grill outside with them. Weather's getting nicer, after all. XD.

On another topic - very funny, Mother Nature:

I suppose when you're as old as Mother Nature, the days all kind of blend into one another...but I wasn't impressed when I woke up to this today. *rolls eyes*
psyche29: The teeth of the Monster Book of Monsters, text "Good Books Don't Bite" (good books don't bite)
1. Saw Monsters VS Aliens today. Not a bad movie at all. I'd probably even see it again. And I LOVE that Real D 3D stuff - nowhere near as hard to watch as the old 3D stuff.

2. Picked up Graceling today, which is on my list of stuff to read. And, of course, found something else to read that ISN'T on my list, so I have to add it. How is it that this list keeps getting bigger and bigger?

3. Also, how is it that I have more books on my list than I can reasonably see being able to actually read within a year, yet my child abhors the very thought of reading a book? He thinks they're boring!! Seriously, WTF, mate? I can't even...I mean, HOW??!!

4. Since I'm on the topic of books...I want a Kindle. It's my dream gift. You guys, it holds books. Entire books. Lots of them. At once. I could carry my entire library everywhere. ... Of course, it would never replace the feeling of pages in your hand, that lovely new book smell (or even that OLD book smell!) - but for the purposes of travel and for people like me who have to go to work every day? Incredible. It even has a basic web browser (simple pages, text) and unrestricted access to Wikipedia - you know, my source for just about every-damn-thing.

5. Heard today, Amanda was approved, so she'll officially be living with us. XD.

6. Matt got a G1 phone today. *sigh* He's fully aware that if he starts mooning over another new phone anytime within the next year, maybe even two years, I am going to rip off his arm and beat him to death with it. I suppose I should thank the God of tech geeks that his phone number didn't change, yeah? *rolls eyes*

7. That is all.
psyche29: Tea in a white cup and saucer, sitting on a pink placemat (tea)
1. WOW, I've missed rather a lot. Work keeps me swamped, unfortunately. I miss you all.

2. On the work front - I am still unbelievably bogged down with stuff to do, but the last few days have made it seem like there might be a light at the end of the tunnel. You know that time early in the morning when no one is awake and you're unsure whether the world is still turning because all you can see, all you can hear is the nothingness of silence and sleep? And then just there, far off in the distance, you realize there's this faint glow spreading along the horizon, the one that isn't really rays of light and can't even accurately be described as light. But there's that faintest ghost of a shimmer, and you know the sun will be absolutely glorious this morning - that's the kind of feeling I've had the last couple days. And I'm a little lighter for it.

3. My youngest sister, Amanda, has decided she'd rather live with us than with her best friend's parents. So on Saturday, we took her to the apartment place to apply, since she's over 18. And they were having an open house, so she (we, actually) didn't have to pay an application fee, which was extremely nice. And if she's approved - which shouldn't be a problem - she'll be entered into a drawing to win a $500 visa gift card and another to win an iPod.

4. We've decided mostly that we're going to let her and Mikey have the bigger bedroom, which isn't too big a sacrifice because both the rooms just seem huge to us. But this way, they'll be able to have two twin beds instead of bunk beds, which is good because Mikey HATES climbing up into that thing, and Amanda sure won't climb up every night. And I can't really blame either of them for it - I was never a top-bunk kind of girl.

5. We'll be moving bits and pieces here and there beginning next Wednesday, when we get the keys, but the big exodus will be mostly over Easter weekend. I have that Friday off and more people seem to be available for then. Anyone nearby who is willing to help is more than welcome.

6. Apparently, I am turning 31 on Sunday. Surely that can't be right...where does the time go?

7. I have made no progress on my list of books, except to add a few to it. *rolls eyes* I can't wait for all my various days off, I am going to lock myself away for a while and just read. Voraciously.

8. I've been wanting to write lately, too, but there's that time commodity problem, like with the reading list. I just try to sneak in whatever I can, but I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.

9. Speaking of writing...ANGEL. Should I have gotten anything from you yet besides the outline you originally sent? I haven't seen anything, and I'm not sure if you just haven't sent it or if I didn't get it. Let me know. :)

10. Day off tomorrow today. *sighs and grins, relaxing into pillows*

11. Song meme swiped from [ profile] coonassblondie. List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Journal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to. You know me, I rarely tag. Do it if you wanna. XD.

My seven, in no particular order:
1. Little Wonders - Rob Thomas
2. In Time - Robbie Robb
3. Love Like This - Natasha Bedingfield ft. Sean Kingston
4. Gotta Be Somebody - Nickelback
5. The Rainbow Connection - Dixie Chicks
6. Hot N Cold - Katy Perry
7. I'm Yours - Jason Mraz

YUCK. I mean, to each his or her own, but just-. No. Note to hubby: Please don't turn me into pencils, honey, OK? Just donate all my usable organs and then bury me someplace pretty.

Thoughts, anyone?
psyche29: Hobbes (the tiger from Calvin and Hobbes) with his hands in the air, grinning and sparkles all around, text "squee" (squee)

That's right, we have a home as of April 1st and I am so crazy-excited, I had to share!! It's such a huge load of worry off our shoulders, I can't even begin to explain.

At the same time, we can't stop making plans and checking out prices everywhere for things we'll need to purchase. It'll be the first time we've been just the three of us in about four and a half years, nearly five, and I'm just so happy it all worked out. Thank you to everyone who sent good wishes or prayers for us (or chanted, did voodoo or sacrificed small animals). *hehe*

Any of you who are in need of or wish to have our new address, let me know and I'll message it to you.

That is all.
psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (together)
1. Yesterday we went to tour the apartment place we're hoping for and we put in our application. Crossing fingers, chanting, voodoo, prayers, small animal sacrifices - whatever you believe in, please do it for us. There are lots of reasons it would be a good place for us, and I just really really hope we're approved.

2. When we finished that, we fetched a couple of Papa Murphy's pizzas and went to visit [ profile] loveweasleys04 and her beautiful family for the evening. We had so much fun introducing them to our lovely Nintendo Wii and GTA 4 on the XBox 360.

3. They got their own Wii today...and are blaming us. XDXDXD.

4. I have a crap-load of great pics, mostly of Mikey and Elaina, and managed to pare it down to five that I like the best. Now, Elaina is gorgeous and just the cutest thing, and takes a while to ease into people she doesn't know, like many children do. But watching her start to relax with us was as awesome to me as being there and being able to talk to people my own age. And Mikey - you guys, this is the kind of big brother he totally wants to be - check out the size of this kid's heart:

Five Mikey-and-Elaina Pics )

5. Bottom line, we had such a lovely night.

6. Today was brilliantly cold and equally as bright out. So we took Mikey to the biggest hill I think we've got around here, which is HUGE. And we put him on his board and sent him down. Five times. He's never really been hard-core sledding like this, and Matt and I could do nothing but stand at the top of the hill and laugh hysterically. Especially on Mikey's second trip down. He went cross-legged on his bum, hanging on to the handles for dear life. He hits this big ramp of snow and goes flying off the board, rolling over and over down the hill while yelling and shrieking, and then we heard laughing in the middle of it. When he finally rolls to a stop, he gets up and - picture that PepsiMax commercial - goes, "I'm good!" We lost it. I was laughing so hard I was crying, and it was so cold that my tears were turning to slush in my eyelashes. SO. FUNNY. We have video, but I don't know if Matt'll get it up or not. If he does, I'll post it. Till then, here, have a pic of Mike after his last run, once we got him out of his coat and hat:
I LOVE his hair! XD.

7. All in all, a really nice weekend - I wish it could've been longer. ;)

psyche29: A brown eye with rainbow eyeliner all around it (harder to breathe)
1. An apology to my F-List. )

2. Still gotta go see a few places. Will be checking out Beth's place on Saturday if I can arrange it, and maybe a couple places elsewhere, too. I'll keep you informed.

3. It was nearly forty degrees today. Enough snow was melted that I could see patches of grass in several places. Tomorrow, however, we're supposed to get between five and eight inches more, with winds gusting at up to 30 miles per hour. *rolls eyes* I know I love winter, but even I have my limits. I suppose, though, that March isn't "in like a lion, out like a lamb" for nothing. *sighs and digs out paper for a letter*

"Dear Wisconsin: Eight inches of snow and ridiculous amounts of wind might be coming your way. Just a heads up. Stay warm. Love, Minnesota."

4. One of my sisters keeps turning up the heat in the house. We've been sleeping with the windows open each night because somehow, after we've turned it down, she sneaks around and cranks it back up. I'm trying to decide whether we just keep leaving the windows open in our room each night and put up with it till we move, or if we should get a dummy box so she thinks she's turning it up but really isn't. *rolls eyes again*

5. Tonight and tomorrow we're moving my grandma out of assisted living and into a nursing home. Her memory is at the point where she can't remember where her room is after she eats, and so she just goes into whatever room happens to be at the place where she decides she's walked far enough. She's been discovered in other people's beds, in other people's easy chairs, etc. And she is a lifelong member of the "never wear underwear" club, but has very dry, always itchy skin, so she's been caught - several times - just lifting her dress wherever she is and scratching at her belly. Which, of course, is a couple eyes full and a half. She'll be in the memory ward at the new place, so she won't be able to wander off, and they'll be able to give her the attention she needs there. So while a little sad, she's as amusing as ever. :)

6. Don't you hate it when your fingernail breaks way far down, and part of the skin of your finger rips off with it and it bleeds like a stuck pig? Because I do.

7. You know what? I don't think I have a seven. Sorry. Guess I'll just say I hope you've all had a good day. ;)

EDIT: 8. I lied. There's something else. I wanted to give a warm, if a little belated, welcome to [ profile] superbeffie.
I look forward to getting to know you better, Beth!

9. OK, I'm done for real, now. ;)

I don't really have much to say. I just haven't been here much lately - wait. Strike that, reverse it...I haven't been ABLE to be here much lately.

Whining and moaning ahead - feel free to ignore. )

And now I feel guilty for bitching. Sorry. I'm going to go to bed now and try to sleep off the headache I just inflicted on myself.

For all my pathetic selfishness, I do hope you're all doing well. *hugs*

1. OMFG-OMFG-OMFG-OMFG-OMFG, THEY'RE GIVING ME LEAD PAY!! BEGINNING MONDAY, I GET FOUR HOURS OF LEAD PAY EVERY DAY, WHICH IS AN EXTRA DOLLAR AN HOUR FOR EACH OF THOSE FOUR HOURS!! TOTAL CAPSLOCK HAPPY BOOGIE DANCE! Seriously, I had NO faith whatsoever that this would be coming any time soon, if ever. And here today, Sue laid it out for me. No trap, no nothing. Just FINALLY, acknowledgment that I do so much more than my fair share around work. SO. RIDICULOUSLY. PLEASED.

2. That doesn't lessen my work load, sadly, but it's a HUGE step in the right direction...especially as I'm the first to whom they've given this. Ever.

3. Also, I'm supposed to move back down to the other end, but split my stuff between the non-desk and the big desk. Sue hasn't quite thought this through, but she'll get with the program soon enough. I hope. She's as stubborn as I am when it comes to being right.

4. I can't find my paint shop pro, so I spent some of my lunch hour fiddling around with and made a few avatars. Use what you like, as you like. Credit would be lovely, but isn't hugely necessary.

The third one is the last part of 1 Corinthians 13:13. The fourth I made up. And the fifth is part of a quote by..uh... *goes to look it up* ...Erica Jong from O Magazine in February of 2004: "Love is everything it's cracked up to be…It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for." In case you wondered. :)

I may make more later this weekend. And perhaps I'll post them to that community I joined...if I figure out the rules and what they mean... (Beth, that was a hint for help...)

5. Um. I can't remember what I was- OH. I finished my seventh book of the year today. I'm not really on a goal or anything to read a specific number this year, but I know some of you are, so I wondered where you're at compared to me. Out of a ridiculous abundance of curiosity, I guess. Indulge me.

6. Oh, and those of you who care about hair and fashion and the like? HELP ME. It is winter, it is cold, the air is brittle. MY HAIR IS SO STATICKY THAT I'M SHOCKING MYSELF EVERY-DAMN-WHERE. What will help this without weighing down or destroying my hair? Or making me need to wash it every damn day, which only exacerbates the problem? I can't keep sticking lotion in it. That doesn't destroy it, but it does weigh it down and make it get oilier faster. I'm looking for a specific product, I suppose - but please keep in mind that I am a NO-maintenance type of girl. I wash my hair, I condition it, I go. I own neither a curling iron nor a hair dryer. I suppose I could pick up a dryer if I must, but UGH.

Also - my hair is already stick-straight and baby fine (and has oily tendencies at the scalp) , but I've heard that a straightener might help. Any tips or ideas or corrections on that? A straightener is more work than I am probably willing to put into it, but seriously, this is ridiculous. I pull a brush through my hair, and it just goes everywhere, sticks everywhere. Uncool, uncomfy, makes me look stupid. And I don't own a comb, though I doubt it'd make a huge difference. I need to know what to do. PLEASE HELP.

7. Waffle breakfast tomorrow. Completely incredible pecan syrup, here I come. Wonder if they'll notice me sneaking the huge bottle out inside my coat? Maybe I oughtn't, it's in a church, after all... *snerk*
