Things might be looking up.
Things at work now have a tentative smiley-face on them. My manager finally hired a supervisor for the entire cash operation area, AND it's the guy I wanted it to be. This is FABULOUS news, because now I have a buffer between me and her. That was sucky grammar, but I just don't care enough to figure out the proper format right now.
I will still have to communicate with her, as she wants to continue having one-on-ones with people. But for the most part, anything from her will be filtered through Jim. And Jim and I get along like a house afire, so things are looking up.
But Karen and I were talking this morning and we pulled Victoria into the convo about something, and it seems that she's starting to get it around here; she's learning that the culture of this business is so very, very different from what she used to be a part of, and that's a huge step in the right direction. She's beginning to understand that her old ideas don't cut it here, and has very much changed many of her views on things, and so while my hopes are not very high, I am willing to see if things start shaping up a little with her. Just knowing that she's finally starting to get it is going a long way with me.
It may be grey and rainy out today, but I'm feeling warm and sunny on the inside...and I haven't felt that way at work in a very long time. :)

I just have to say, I went to your journal, and saw the title and immediately started singing White Houses. I LOVE that song, and I love that you used lyrics from it for your journal title.

your enthusiasm is refreshing, it's a bit hard to come by over here I've found so. Besides we have a fair deal in common (harry potter, calvin & hobbes, dr. suess and cheeeeese :D) I'm going to add you now lol.
