4 hours in the emergency room later...

Kiddo was vomiting and had diarrhea all day yesterday. He puked up a phlegm-and-blood cocktail before bed last night, so we called the Care Line and the nurse explained that it sounded like he has the stomach flu. The blood, thankfully, is simply a side-effect of continued forceful vomiting - which sounds weird to say, I know, but I'm just glad it wasn't anything worse. Anyway, she said to call again if he wasn't any better today.
He wasn't, and we took him to the hospital. Luckily, no IV was necessary; they did a chest X-ray to make sure that was all right, then gave him this dissolves-on-the-tongue tablet to help get rid of some his nausea. He was REALLY dehydrated, and the idea was to avoid IV by getting him to keep down a lot of fluid. He kept it down, so once he managed to pee, we were able to go home.
