Long day ahead.
Aug. 20th, 2010 08:58 amSo not only do I have to get through the work day in this hellhole (TGIF, right?!), but tonight, Mikey (a.k.a. Boychild) is having two friends sleep over.
They've slept over once before and had a blast. Tim and Levi are brothers. Tim is in Mike's grade, and Levi is the year behind them. They all get along famously and, as I said to a friend, this means they are noisy and rambunctious and full of GOGOGOGOGO until their adrenaline bottoms out. And I never knew how exhausting it was to get three ten- and eleven-year-old boys to just Be Quiet at 11 PM after watching them go batshit crazy for four or five hours after feeding them something as simple as pizza.
It's a particularly effective lesson for hubby and me: You Are Getting Old. But hey, at least they have fun - and it's really lovely to see Mikey with friends who like him for who he is. It's worth the exhaustion I'll be complaining about tomorrow. *snerk*
