1. Been a while; work and life have kept me fairly exhausted.

2. I applied yesterday for the Contact Center job. We will have to wait and see what happens there.

3. I keep seeing the words "Yuletide" and "nominations." Internets, I am not brilliant enough this week (month?) to figure out what this means. Is it a contest? A gifting fic thing for the holidays? SOMEONE HELP ME UNDERSTAND, PLEASE.

4. I have next Thursday and Friday off and we're going out of town. Can't wait to get out of here.

5. I'm groggy and anti-work this morning, so I picked up my little container of bubbles and blew some. They're pretty, but one of them popped right back down on the wand and now I taste soap. Ick.

Yuletide is the yearly small (rare) fandom gift exchange. I'm not involved in it, so I wouldn't have the foggiest where to direct you if you wanted to sign up, but it's always interesting to see people start to compile their lists of fandoms they could write in. I believe that this month is the "solicit fandoms" phase of the exchange. One place to find a sampling of yuletide stories would be at AO3, where the old Yuletide archive was moved last year; it became the first challenge/gift exchange held on AO3.

Yuletide's a gift fic exchange, yes. The official website hasn't yet been moved (it was supposed to have been last year, but things didn't work out in time or something, idk), so you can find info on it here. Nominations for possible fandoms are up until October 20th, and sometime after that, people will be able to start signing up officially.

This'll be my second year participating. It's pretty fun--some people are Way Too Into It and make it less fun for newer participants, imo, but the concept overall is good, and it results in stories for some less common fandoms.
