Another pleasant Father's Day passes...
Jun. 16th, 2008 12:28 pmIt was a really nice weekend. We spent it at our local airport, like we nearly always do. The Lions hold an open house and pancake breakfast there every Father's Day, so we go have pancakes and ogle the airplanes.
This year they even had some formation flying - I wouldn't say "stunt" flying, because there weren't any stunts. But the six of them did a few fly-bys, with the smoke trails and stuff, and it was something new, so we enjoyed it.

These were the six planes doing formation stuff. A couple of them seemed to have issues with the whole "smoke" thing, but it was still cool.

Formation fliers on the ground.

Mikey fooling around in an old training cockpit.

In the same cockpit, different angle. Best smile I've gotten out of him in what could possibly be years...

I am beyond thrilled with this photo. This is Mikey with his grandmother (I've referred to her here as both "Oma" and "Bunny," as well as "Mikey's grandmother"), and they're sitting in an old Army helicopter. Best photo I've gotten of them, it's so clear and they both have great smiles on, I love it.

We went to Dairy Queen afterwards and Matt shoved Mike's nose into his ice cream. *rolls eyes* It's a boy thing, right?

Rather disbelieveing that Mikey would retaliate...I just can't believe he let me take this pic. XD

Father and son, enjoying their ice cream. XD
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and a good Father's Day!
