a) I loved your enthusiasm on HPIA and wanted to stay connected to that because it always made me smile. And your maturity level at your age impressed me; I like conversing with people who are capable of holding up their end of the conversation.

b) Excited randomness. The idea of you just shouts in my head, "Here I am, baby!!" With a big grin.

c) I love your acceptance of others just exactly as they are and your unwavering support and defense of those you feel have been wronged.

d) I remember the first time you made me sit up and take notice of you, the first time I forgot your age and connected with you on an even level. You were super active around HPIA, and you'd started a new topic on reasons people came to HPIA, what they liked, disliked, and how they were made to feel welcome.

e) I've been sitting here for five minutes, trying to come up with something to ask, and the only thing that came to mind was: "How far do you plan to go when it's time for college and you can get out of the house?" *is a loser for not having anything better to ask*

a) I met you on Obliviate, and you were so immediately friendly and raring to be part of things. I really liked that. And then I learned you were a stay-at-home mom, and THEN I learned you lived near me! HELL YEAH, I wanted to get to know you!

b) Real Gone, by Sheryl Crow. This song is SO you. I'm including lyrics because the whole thing is just "BETH," but most especially the parts:











c) I love the way you go into everything with your eyes and your heart wide open, and I love the way you're a brilliantly kick-ass, feminist mom who would do just about anything for her man.

d) I had the BEST time watching you go through that bag of goodies I brought you in the hospital the first time. Every time I see Starburst or anything lime, I think immediately of you.

a) Your writing hooked me first - I loved reading your various installments on different things, and when I learned you were close to my age, I decided you would be cool to get to know.

c) I love that you're so frank and matter-of-fact about things, no matter what they are. I don't know if you're really like that, but that's how you come across to me, and I like it.

d) Mmm, recently, actually - I couldn't help laughing out loud when you pointed out my "minor irritations" tag in relation to the level of rant I was displaying. Thanks, by the way - it calmed me down a bit. ;)

I've always been introverted. I've always had a few close friends, and most of them I keep in touch with to this day, but I've never been overtly outgoing. In school, I joined a few after-school clubs (art and drama being the only ones that lasted all four years) but I tended to stay in the background as much as possible. Nothing has made me keep to myself, nothing that stick out in my memory anyway, except perhaps a disdain and impatience for people I don't know or understand in general.

HEY! *idea bulb goes on over head* What we're "doing" is Mikey's bday party - we're taking him and a couple friends swimming at the Civic Center, then afterwards we're hitting Davanni's for some pizza and cupcakes. I can't imagine you wanna drag Elaina and Evie into the pool (although you're certainly welcome if you wanna), but maybe you'd like to join us for the pizza and cupcakes? You wouldn't be going further than Brooklyn Center in either case - just lemme know.

And if you don't want to come along, that's OK too - we'll catch another day. XD.

Not sure. The invites say to be at the pool by 1:15, and that we'll be done by 3:30, so I would imagine around 2:30 or so. I can text you when swimming's done, that gives you time to pack up the girls and us time to dry off the kids and dress them and haul them the couple blocks to Davanni's. You know where it is, back behind Target near the library? I'll give you directions if you need 'em, it's super easy.

a) I hate the way I feel when people I used to see all the time lose touch with me, whether intentional or not. I can't even remember how I found out you were on LJ, I was just super-pleased you were and added you. Thanks for adding me back. ;)

b) Sports band and Paul.

c) I love that you're super-intelligent and not afraid to show it, and I used to love how we got along.

d) I remember one night we were talking, and you were telling me how Paul had told you how he'd always kind of had his eye on you but wasn't able to make a move because you were with Mike at the time. And I remember it just clicking in my head, just that last puzzle piece falling into place, like, "Oh, of course. I knew that." And I did know it, somewhere in my head, but it had never surfaced as such. And it made me so happy, both for you and for him, because you just FIT. It was lovely, and I was so pleased you were sharing it with me.

e) Have you and Paul ever considered having kids? Why or why not?

To answer you question - not in the forseeable future. Having a kid would just be too much responsibility and we're not ready for that. If we do decide some day to have one, we'll probably adopt. Neither of us are fans of babies and I don't want to be pregnant!
