Goin' on a bear hunt.
Jul. 31st, 2009 10:07 pm1. WE LEAVE IN TEN HOURS!
2. I posted $2.8 MILLION in payments today. Been holding them for WEEKS when she told me to work on those bloody corporate accounts...she'd completely forgotten I had the other payments, so was thrilled when I told her month-end would look great once I posted all the outstanding electronic files I'd accumulated.
Some days, I wonder why I still work there.

3. We went to Como Zoo last Sunday. I had way more pictures than this, but my camera's been a bit wonky lately and zoom won't work, so these are just a few of the better pictures.
Lions are always a favorite. They were all sleeping, and of course this doesn't even rate next to Sarah's completely awesome, Tanzanian OHMYGOSHSOCLOSEUPWILD lions, but we still enjoyed them:

Mikey and Matt, checking out the giraffes:

We always love the sea lions:

We were highly amused by the little critter hanging there on the wrong side of the fence. What do you suppose that is? Gecko? Salamander?

Seriously, how often do you see an actual sloth?

Pretty flowers; wonder what they are?

We went to Sonic afterwards for slushes. Amanda - I sometimes think she orders hers just to see what color her drink will be when it comes out. This is blue coconut with a shot of watermelon:

It looks awesome, of course, but I just wonder sometimes. *shakes head* Artists.
Earlier this week on the way to work, there was this super-bright rainbow. I finally got a decent picture when we pulled into the parking garage. This is looking south out the second floor of the garage; that tall, tan building on the far right is actually the building I work in.

And last night, Amanda painted my toes for me. I've got it in my head that toes are for fun, bright, wild colors, and I happen to have this affinity for a good poison green, so that's what's on my toes right now:

4. *points at top of journal* Did you see the banner I made, huh? Huh? Didja? *is proud*
5. In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe. MICHAEL JACKSON.
6. Time to get some sleep. Everybody have a great week!

Date: 2009-08-01 11:49 am (UTC)2. So, let me get this straight, your boss is making things worse for you and messing up the month-end figures by telling you to do something else first rather than the most important job?
She sounds like a wonderful boss! [/sarcasm]
I'm sorry you have to but up with crap like this at work. All I can suggest is keep putting your resume out there, and hopefully you'll find somewhere where your talents will be appreciated.
3. Me and Nathan loved the zoo pics (he was facinated by the sloth). It almost makes me wish I'd gone to the zoo when Mum and Lisa took him a few weeks ago.
THat rainbow looks beautiful. I just love rainbows. And that's interesting to see where you work.
Your nails look wicked; I love 'em. I agree, toe nails should be for bright, fun colours. Makes me wanna go paint mine now!! *Wonders if I have any hot pink polish*
4. YES! I see it. As I said in my email, it looks friggin' awesome; you've done a fantastic ob with it, babe!
5. Though I'm not a Michael Jackson fan, I do like that quote very much. ^_^ You've got such a way finding awesome quotes.
THE SLOTH!!
Date: 2009-08-01 11:53 am (UTC)We got a really good picture of the sloth when we were there, he lifted up is head and was sniffing the air. His face is so cute *wibbles*
Your camera takes really clear pictures. I still miss the polar bears :(
