I can't sit at a desk and concentrate on work when I'm ... well, you can use your imaginations based on my pissy letter to Eve - the bitch - last night.

So anyway, I'm home today.

I was busy last night, so I didn't get a chance to do day two of that seven-day meme thing, so I'll do days two and three now.

I know I've posted this before, but OH. MY. GOD. I can't stop ogling it.

Day 3: a book/ebook/fanfic

I have to recommend a book? Yikes...not everyone has the same tastes as I do. I love the vast majority of the books I've read, so it's hard to pick one. But I'd say to give the Percy Jackson series a try. There are only five, and I've only read the first three, but they're well-written and very entertaining. The author is Rick Riordan, and the books, in order, are The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian.

OK, A Game of Thrones.

The Lannisters are EVIL!!! They're power hungry and want to be the ruling family, don't they?! God, the twins - I had a feeling it was them while Bran was trying to get a glimpse, but having it confirmed was ... BLEURGH.

AND THEN HE THREW BRAN OUT THE WINDOW!!!! Poor baby, he's laying there, suffering and dying and the only thing keeping him holding on is his direwolf, it kills me that he can't tell who/what he saw.

I think I like Tyrion, the younger Lannister brother. Should I like him? I do, so far.

Jon = ♥. Jon is definitely my favorite so far. I think Catelyn is a bitch and a half and has no right being a mother. "It should've been you." I hate her for that alone.

Dany! And her new husband - he was so gentle and careful with her, that was so refreshing to see. I was so pleased with both of them. Does it stay happy like that? Viserys needs his ass kicked, and maybe a few good blows to the head.

What am I forgetting? Oh! BETH, YOU WERE SO RIGHT! Elaina is Sansa and Evie is Arya, so, so much!

I love Arya and her easy relationship with Jon, and her smart-ass mouth. "I know which end to use!" It was a great gift, and I can't wait to see what she does with it.

Have I said yet that I like Ned? I do.

Tell me if I'm forgetting anything. Ask me questions. I only got as far as the end of Jon's chapter, when he gave Arya the sword, so keep that in mind.

In other news, picture day for Mikey today. His new glasses were in yesterday, and they look great. XD.

*hugs gently* I'm sorry you're home sick, but you need to go to the doctor. Don't think about it, just call. The doctor sucks, but going doesn't suck as hard as contemplating going to the ER and wondering what on earth is wrong with your uterus! My grandma, a wonderful and stubborn woman, hasn't been to the doctor since her fourth kid was born back in 1962, but she's perfectly healthy. You and me? Not so much. If I were in Minnesota, I would offer to go with you.

A lot of people like Tyrion for his humor, wit, and intelligence. I can't say much more w/o giving anything away. Where you are in the book too I felt the same way.

Yeah, I definitely hated Catelyn for that too and felt the same way. But, at the same time I can kind of understand her feelings towards him even if she doesn't handle them the best way. There is more to come from this story too....

I think Joff is spoiled and deserves whatever Robb can dish out. And I really think Jon should have a chance at him, too. I like Robb, he's privileged but not rude or anything less than what I would expect from a boy his age. But I like Jon better.

The Lannisters sure are nasty pieces of work, aren't they? When I heard Beth talking about the series, I thought they might be the type of evil characters I like (like the Death Eaters), but now, they're just evil and horrible.
Though, it is hard for me to get my heard around evil, Slytherin-esq people wearing red and gold with lions on the front. *lol* Gryffindor much? ;)

Couldn't agree more about Arya and Jon's relationship. They really bounce off of each other well and I love how sassy and unladylike she is. Such a great contrast to Sansa.

Can't wait to see the pictures, I'm sure they look wicked. Its Nathan's picture day this Friday, so we can compare boys!! *lol*
