1. Describe yourself in one word: Open.
2. What’s your desktop background? At home, a drawing by Ayne Greensleeves of Harry, Ginny, Hermione and Ron. At work, a vividly vibrant picture of a river and its green banks. Man, do I want to lounge there...
3. If you were another person, would you be friends with you? You're damn straight, I would...I'm freaking amazing. XD
4. What’s the most embarrassing CD you own? Uhh...no idea. What's embarrassing these days? Maybe Britney? *shrugs* Nope, no idea.
5. What’s in your pocket right now? Absolutely nothing.
6. Where are your favorite fandom haunts? CoS forums and RoR, I suppose. And Obliviate, of course, although that's not so much fandom as it is random... XD
7. If you were on a game show, what amusing/embarrassing story would they make you tell? Umm, probably the one where I never knew the real words to Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah were "Mr. Bluebird on my shoulder."
8. What's your worst LJ habit? Does not posting much count?
9. Anything else I should know? Such as...? I like cheese. Everything's better with cheese.
10. If you're a writer, which of your fics should I read first? Well, damn. I only have three fanfics written...two one-shots and 15 chapters of a third, and DH shot them all to hell. *sigh* But if you don't mind them now being completely AU, I'd start with the one-shots ("Incomplete" and "Of Fights and Feelings"). Then if you feel up to it, give my multi-chaptered fic a try (On CoS, it's called "Making It Count"). It's not finished, but ahh, well.
Now for the HP portion of our program...
1. Favorite Book so far? Can't decide between DH and PoA - but I'll go with DH. It's the last one, but it completes it for me (I know, I know - DUH). It's like the Chronicles of Narnia, I guess.
2. Least Favorite book so far? I love them all, but the one I re-read the least is CoS. It's a great story, but I guess I think there could have been more references to Ginny and her odd behavior, her relationship to her brothers, etc. There could have been far more character development than was given. That aside, it was still a good book. ;)
3. Favorite movie so far? I usually go for Sorcerer's Stone or Prisoner of Azkaban.
4. Least favorite movie so far? Goblet of Fire. So much - TOO much - was left out. Too many special effects, not enough details.
5. Number of times you have re-read the series? I lost count! LOL!
6. Favorite character? Harry, of course.
7. Most hated character? Umbridge, I think - I want to rip her arm off and beat her senseless with it. Percy Weasley and Wormtail, too.
8. Most annoying character? Not sure...maybe Crabbe and Goyle. Honestly, who gets through life being such a dunderhead?!
9. Favorite Spell (book or movie): Accio, of course. That would be the most useful thing in the history of the world, seriously.
10. Favorite magical animal? Oh, for pity's sake - I don't know. Bowtruckles seem pretty cool. Dragons, hippogriffs, unicorns...thestrals! Thestrals absolutely intrigue me. ETA: My sister was reading this and reminded me of my favorite of them all - the phoenix. Although how I forgot is beyond me... ;)
11. Which magical object wouldn't you mind having? A wand!! LOL! If that doesn't count, then a Marauder's Map would be a gem. I'd always know where my boss is! XD
12. Out of these which would you want?
1. A skilled legilimens
2. An Animagus (If this, what form?)
3. Metamorphmagus
4. To speak Parseltongue
I think I'd choose being a metamorphmagus. That just seems so much better than turning into an animal. Legilimency doesn't allow you to read minds, only feelings, and how often am I going to need to talk to snakes? I would much rather be able to change my entire appearance, and be anyone I can dream up.
13. Which house would you be in? I don't know. It could go either way between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff, really.
14. Book moment that made you cry? In DH, the chapter where Harry's heading back into the forest and the one where he's chatting with Dumbledore in the train station. I couldn't breathe for crying.
15. Favorite Movie Quote? "Soon we must all face the choice between what is right...and what is easy."
16. Favorite Book Quote? "Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open."
So it's a quiet evening. Matt and Mikey are playing with the movie-making feature of Matt's cell phone. And they've descended into classic, stereotypical MAN territory...they're recording farts and burps and everything gross they can think of.
And laughing so hysterically, it's funny just to listen to them laugh...
