Yay, conservation!!
Apr. 3rd, 2010 09:50 pmWe got new license plates! We've been ogling these ones for a while, and since it was time to renew the tabs, we went ahead and did it yesterday. We LOVE them:

Well, hubby and I do. Kiddo thinks the original ones were better...but he's eleven, what does he know? *snerk* He can't wait till we hang up one of the old ones in his room. ;)
Did all our egg-dying today, too - we boiled FIVE DOZEN EGGS. Mom and Karen did a baker's dozen to take home for themselves and Dad; six cracked during or right after boiling, so hubby ate them, and another six, we set aside to make deviled eggs. The rest? All gorgeous.
These are the first ones we popped into the dye; we had 12 tablets and left these in for fifteen minutes or so to figure out which cup had which color:

These are the ones hubby and kiddo did; kiddo's are the six on the left, hubby's the six on the right:

And these are what was left over after everyone finished goofing around, so I did them:

The entire apartment smells like, well, eggy gas, of course, but that's to be expected when you boil five dozen eggs, yes? ;)
Ham and au gratin potatoes and green beans with bacon tomorrow for Easter dinner, and yummy Hawaiian rolls. Banana cream pie and pumpkin pie on deck for dessert, though I doubt I'll manage it! ;)
