Minor PicSpam
Jun. 29th, 2011 12:05 pmI've been promising pictures for quite a while, but just never managed to get them off my phone...till now.
And as it's been many, many moons since the last time I really posted any, there are a TON. While epic picspams are certainly awesome, they are very time-consuming to put together, so I'm abbreviating them to the most pertinent pictures.
If you recall, we started the year out in the children's hospital. This is in the ER, waiting for the appendicitis diagnosis:

This is late that evening, after surgery was complete. You can't see very well because it's fairly dark in there, but trust me, it's Boychild:

And this is the next morning - he was talking on the cell phone to his Umpa, who was sick and not allowed to be with us in the hospital:

Nice and chilly this winter, yes?

And for those of you using the Metric system, here's the conversion of the cold:

My sister and her husband visited in early March with their boy in tow - this is him, being all smiley:

In late March, we went to California for some big car thing that hubby was taking part in. Here's Boychild, apparently too badass to stay awake through Iowa:

At the aforementioned car thing, there were lots (obviously) of very awesome cars. This one was by far my favorite:

Still at the car thing, this was Boychild's preferred method of spending time - although really, this is how he would spend All The Time if given a chance:

Cannonballs are still his favorite. He could do this all day and be perfectly happy:

CA gas prices are definitely higher than at home - enough that I had to take a picture on our last day there:

And our last stop in CA before heading out was Laguna Beach. It was rainy and grey and cool, but hey - I can say I was in the Pacific Ocean because we got our fingers in there.

Baby sister visited in mid-April; she's on the left, with Boychild in the middle and second-baby-sister on the right:

Had some wicked tornadoes and storms coming through in mid-May; this is off my balcony. It was all evil-looking off in the sky, but I think it's more alarming when the light behind makes the grass and trees fairly glow like that, and everything goes perfectly still.

A month and a half after the last of the snow, and we had a nice stretch of sustained 110ºF while driving home. I don't have a Metric comparison pic, but the conversion is 43ºC. Yikes.

Last weekend, we found a good, old-fashioned drive-in restaurant.

And of course, we stopped and nommed. BEST. ROOTBEER. EVER.

And last but not least, my little potted balcony garden! These are my petunias this year:

And here are my green beans and the tomato plant. The beans have finally started flowering, and I can see them in there, ready to start growing nommy beans. And I have FIVE tomatoes growing so far, though you can't tell in the pic - they're still small and green, but getting bigger each day:

And that, my friends, is the seriously abridged version of the massive amounts of pictures I pulled off my phone and camera. ;)

Date: 2011-06-29 08:17 pm (UTC)The temperatures on your car scare me and I've been living in PEI for the last two years.
I have to agree with Boychild. Swimming is an awesome way to spend a day.

Date: 2011-06-29 08:43 pm (UTC)And LOL! Hubby is orginially from Alberta, and his first few winters here were really hard on him. People so widely assume that Canada's naturally colder than the US - I used to think it, myself! - and that just isn't always the case.
